Svenska, tack! Magazine Magnus Living mammoths. 6/26/1998

A group of scientists are trying to recreate the ancient Mammoths. The scientists are hoping to find sperm in frozen Mammoths from Siberia. This sperm will later on be used to fertilize African elephants, who are closely related to the Mammoth.

The offspring will be a crossing between Elephant and Mammoth, but
when the attempt will be repeated with eggs from this animal, etc,
the elephant genes will in the end be so diluted that the animal
will be real close to the real thing. It sounds really simple of
course, but there are many impediments on the way. It will take
time before we will see alive Mammoths at the Zoos
